Dr. Virendra Swarup Memorial Trust

MS. AKANKSHA SWARUP is a hard-working and ambitious individual having a constructive disposition in life. She has a keen interest in co-curricular activities.

She has done her schooling from two well reputed institutions namely, St. Mary’s convent at Kanpur and Dr. Virendra SwarupPublic School Cantt. Kanpur, affiliated to Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations New Delhi. She is currently pursuing her bachelors’ degree from the Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University.

Hailing from a family which for over 100 yrs. has a glorious tradition in Law, Education and administration is also one of the factors which has deeply molded her thoughts and influenced her choice of the subject. Her Great grandfather Rai Bahadur Anand Swarup was an eminent lawyer of his time and President of Cawnpore Bar association from 1920 to 23. He was also the first Dean of Faculty of Law of Agra University. Her Grandfather, father and uncles have been leading legal luminaries and parliamentarians. She will be the fourth generation in her family to have studied law and taking up the legal profession.

A study of Law in U.K. has widened her horizons & given her an opportunity to study the British legal system which can be utilized to understand some of the problems faced by our legal system.
